Facebook begins testing new dating app
The Facebook dating app is another step closer to becoming a reality.
Facebook announced plans to launch Facebook Dating during the F8 Developers Conference in May along with other new Facebook features. The Facebook dating feature will allow singles to create a separate profile on Facebook for dating.

App researcher Manchun Wong posted screenshots of Facebook Dating, adding that the new Facebook dating feature is currently being tested internally. According to Wong, she was only able to get as far as the initial signup screen because Facebook is only activating the feature for its employees during the pre-launch phase.

I can't go past the signup screen because they are not activating all non-employee Dating profiles because, well, it's "pre-launch" ;) pic.twitter.com/VQFHUJIkuX
According to The Verge, Facebook confirmed that it is testing the dating app but did not provide further details about it.
Screenshots for the new Facebook dating app reveal that the app is being tested with Facebook employees in the US who have opted-in its new dating product voluntarily. According to Facebook, the company wants employees to "test the end-to-end product experience for bugs and confusing UI." Facebook tells staff to use fake data to create profiles because it will be deleted prior to the Facebook dating app launch date. The social network also reminds it’s staff that the Facebook dating feature is not meant for dating coworkers and Facebook harassment and code of conduct policies will be enforced during the testing period.

How will Facebook Dating work?
Although Facebook did not release an official statement regarding all the features of its new dating service, the leaked screenshots show that the Facebook dating app lets users set up a profile similar to other popular dating apps such as Tinder and Match and will give you options to select your gender, choose who you’re interested in seeing on the dating app, and provide other information such as the current city you’re in. According to the screenshots, the Facebook dating app will also allow you to adjust your privacy settings to set who can see your dating profile on Facebook. This is probably the most important feature because you might not want all of your friends on Facebook to know that you’re also looking for love.
Facebook dating app release date
An official release date of the Facebook dating app has not been officially announced yet, but since we already know the app is currrently being tested by Facebook employees, it might be a few months before it’s rolled out to a select group of real Facebook users. Until then, you just have to rely on "poking" that person you’re interested, liking all their posts or sending them a direct message.
