Rockstar Games announced on Wednesday that the online multiplayer component for Red Dead Redemption 2 will launch sometime in November. What's more, Red Dead Online will be free to game owners.
Calling it an "evolution" to the classic online version of the game introduced in 2010's Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Online will blend new narrative with competitive and cooperative gameplay, according to Rockstar.
Just as GTA V online has done through the years, Red Dead Online will have continuous updates and adjustments, the company revealed. When Red Dead Online launches in November, it will initially be as a public beta.
Anticipation for the game is at a boiling point with the recent release of the first gameplay trailer, followed by plot details and bios on the cast of characters in the open-world, Old West game.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Oct. 26.
