Europa League final shows new presentation and announce team

[post_ads]A first look at the gameplay (and user interface) of FIFA 19 has slipped out, in advance of Gamescom 2018 where more is expected to be seen of EA Sports’ soccer franchise.
The 10-minute video surfaced yesterday on the FIFA subreddit; it shows a Manchester United vs. Manchester City match with UEFA Europa League presentation. Electronic Arts picked up the UEFA tournament licenses this year after league’s exclusive deal with Konami and Pro Evolution Soccer was not renewed.
It doesn’t take long for the action to get started, with Sergio Agüero serving a cross to Leroy Sané for an easy goal. Longtime players will immediately notice that the announcing crew is not Martin Tyler and Alan Smith. They’re still the regular announcing duo but for the UEFA matches, FIFA 19 brings in Derek Rae and Lee Dixon, to give that presentation a little more distinction.
Commenters, of course, are already complaining that the game looks the same as past editions. It’s possible this was played on an easier difficulty setting, too. The user interface does look cleaner and more accessible, but the long, silent stretch in the pre-game cutscene is something FIFA’s dealt with in the past. At any rate, it’s nice to get Europe’s premier professional club championships (the Champions League and Super Cup also feature in FIFA 19) into the game.

FIFA 19 launches Sept. 28 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. It’s also coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The current-generation version will deliver the third and final chapter of The Journey, the story mode starring wonderboy footballer Alex Hunter, his American sister Kim, and best pal Danny Williams.
